Two people were hurt after they were thrown from a motorcycle after crashing into a deer. On Saturday morning June 13, at 10:35 a.m., a motorcyclist and his passenger were traveling North on County Highway 67 South of New York Mills when they hit a deer that was crossing the road. Both were thrown from the motorcycle as it overturned. The driver, identified as Eric Engler of New York Mills, sustained injuries to his arm and legs. The passenger, identified as Rebecca Engler of New York Mills, suffered injuries to her arms, legs and head. Both were taken by ambulance to the hospital. Both had been wearing helmets and appropriate riding gear at the time of the crash. New York Mills Fire Department and Otter Tail County Sherriff’s Office responded to the scene.
