Reward Offered In Missing Persaons Case

A crime stoppers organization is offering a $25,000 reward for information in the nearly four-decade-old disappearance of a Wadena woman. Spotlight on Crime announced the reward Monday for information leading to the whereabouts of Carla Beth Anderson and the identity of those responsible for her disappearance in November 1987. Anderson was  23, when she was last seen returning to her Greenwood Apartments residence at approximately 8 p.m. on Nov. 13, 1987, after having dinner and renting movies with her mother and stepfather. She never showed up for her noon shift at work the following day and did not answer phone calls. When investigators searched her apartment, they found no signs of a break-in or struggle. Her door was locked, and her purse remained inside. The only items missing were her apartment keys and her Hardee’s jacket. One of the rented movies was still in the VCR. Wadena Police Department investigators say they do not believe Anderson chose to disappear and are unaware of any motive for someone to harm her. Despite hundreds of interviews and leads, the investigation has resulted in no arrests. Anderson is described as a vulnerable adult at the time of her disappearance.
