A Red Lake man has been sentenced to a little more than five years in prison for the sexual abuse of a minor.37-year-old Darwin Lee Lussier Jr. was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court after pleaded guilty last March. Lussier was sentenced to 63 months in prison and 15 years supervised release for one count of sexual abuse of a minor. According to court documents, from on or about December 2018 and continuing until on or about December 2019, the defendant knowingly engaged in sexual contact with a minor. During this time, the minor was between the ages of 12 and 13 years old, and during some of this abuse, the victim was entrusted to Lussier as a caregiver.
